1.   Cost
Owning a boat is a very expensive proposition.  Purchasing a boat is a major investment.  Expensive monthly insurance payments, dock fees, winter storage, maintenance and all of the needed fishing gear (what's hot today) really add up quickly.  After all those payments are made, the boat owner finally gets to purchase gasoline for both the boat and the tow vehicle.

In comparison, charter fishing is a great deal.  A small group can book several charter trips per year with a professionally guided for a fraction of the cost of owning a boat.  In most cases, taking a charter is less expensive than hauling your own boat across the state.
Unless you fish every week you will catch more fish and spend less money on a charter. Even if you do fish weekly or more frequently there are other reasons to charter.

2.     Learn how to fish the area
As a guide I am more than happy to share my knowledge of the area and the best techniques with customers.  There is no better way to learn how to fish the Saginaw Bay or Ludington than taking one of my charters.  You can make the trip as hands-on as you wish.  I also am willing to give advice concerning rigging your boat to fish it more efficiently.  I consider it my job to make you a better fisherman.

3.     Fish the productive water
As a guide/captain I keep track of where the fish are on daily basis. 10% of the water has 90% of the fish. Most anglers spend far too much time fishing the non-productive areas. Many things impact where the fish will be on any given day. With my experience and the fact that I'm on the water almost daily assures you we will be in prime water for the given conditions and season.

4.     Pure Enjoyment
Relax and enjoy your trip, hassle free. Just show up and jump on board. Charters consistently out fish the general public. It's their job. Charters make great gifts and are perfect for entertaining clients. You can focus on bonding with your customers and we focus on the fishing.
